We imported Crockett as a two year old and he was one of the first imported studs in this country. His championship bloodlines included Poker des Pigenettes, six times champion and international champion Ska de Saint Tugen, and International champions Jocky de Saint Tugen, Nouelenn de Goas Vilinic, and Model de Sous les Viviers.

Crocket passed away on December 20, 2007. He passed quietly and peacefully at home with us. In his sixteenth year, about 107 human years, he simply passed from old age. He had a good, long life, and lived a life that most gun dogs can only dream about - spending more days in the field than most gun dogs do in a lifetime.  At 12 years of age he was still hunting long, hard days with zest and the prowess of an old pro and was always a favorite with our lodge's clients.
Click here to read a testimonial about Crockett from one of them that hunted with him in 2001.

He was one of the "great" gun dogs that you can always depend on to dazzle in the field! The saying goes that a man is lucky to have one great dog in his lifetime, and though we are blessed to have other dogs in our kennel now that are also in that category, Crockett will always hold a special place for us and for the breed as well.

Crockett was featured in Pointing Dog Journal and on the American Birdhunter and American Outdoorsman television programs. And due to his beauty, his personality and his superb talent in the field he brought the attention and interest in this country to the French Brittanys that sparked the recognition and growth the breed is still enjoying today. So if you own a French Brit today it's due in part to this remarkable dog. We love you Crockett and always will.
