French Brittany Spaniels from Pheasant Country
Plum Creek Kennels
Hunting is a way of life for a
Plum Creek French Brittany. We own and operate a wild pheasant hunting lodge in South
Dakota, Big Spur Lodge
www.bigspur.com
so
the bar of expectation for the performance of all of our Brittanys in the field is necessarily quite high.
We researched and selected only the best to build our foundation blood
lines. And because we are serious, committed French brittany
breeders, we have imported the best French brittany blood
lines in Europe to our kennels. We breed selectively and ONLY with hip
certified French brittany parents. Please enter the site to explore all the info inside and here's wishing you many staunch
points! Bill and Kathy

PLUM CREEK KENNEL NEWS UPDATES
COUPE D'EUROPE 2008
For the first time in history the USA was allowed to compete in the European Cup for Continental Breeds. With Tatoo and Ultra both having the qualifications necessary to be entered in this competition, Bill was approved to represent the USA with our dogs. We are very happy to report that Tatoo qualified in the Coupe with a TRES BON. When you look at the picture above, can you hear the Star Spangled Banner being played? What an awesome moment! The Coupe is representative of the best dogs of the continental breeds in the world. Each year the Coupe is held in a different country. This year it was held in the Czech Republic and there were teams from 14 different countries competing. There was 1 dog that got a CAC, 2 dogs that got EXC and 5 that got TRES BONS. We are very proud that Tatoo was one of the eight dogs that qualified in this exclusive group of the best dogs of the world! Though Ultra performed to perfection, there was unfortunately no birds in his course. Though birds were scarce the extremely large hare and chevreuil (deer) were abundant. Tatoo encountered five different hares and two chevreuil during his run, and Ultra encountered six hares and two chevreuil during his run. So much distraction can be too much temptation for a dog, and some good dogs were eliminated due to that, but the boys both honored the hares without giving chase and both gave performances throughout their courses that we can be proud of and which impressed other drivers and attendees alike, drawing resounding applause at the awards ceremony when Bill received the award for Tatoo's TRES BON. We are very pleased the USA was well represented by their performances.
Prior to the Euro Cup in the Czech Republic, Bill competed Ultra and Tatoo in
some spring trials in France where Tatoo won 1 EXC and 3 TRES BONS, and Ultra
won a 1EXC and 3EXC. There were six trials where the boys were entered
where they performed perfectly, but again no birds. It's unfortunate when that
happens but when it's wild birds rather than planted birds it's a part of the
venue that is quite normal. And though it's unfortunate when it does happen,
it's what makes wild bird competitions so much meaningful when wins are
accomplished. S.C.C. COUPE DE FRANCE RESERVE CACT WIN - 2007
